I have been noticing more and more companies not supporting the 1000 with hardware that is 1000 specific. Perfect Sound digitizer for the 500 is MUCH clearer than the version for the 1000, the 500 can have more chip ram(hopefully) and the Fat Agnus chip is always a plus. In addition lots of new hardware is going to be made for the 500 and its backward data bus :-) that just isnt going to work on the 1000. If it werent for the fact I can use my Starboard on the 500, I would have probably already sold the 1000. And the 2000 is out of the question, mainly because I have 2 IBM clones sitting on my desk here.
