I suggested something like this, back in 1.1. The simplest would be to have a handler named "PATH" Then you could do this: assign C: PATH:vd0:c;sys:c;... assign DEVS: PATH:vd0:devs;sys:devs... Modulo any problems with the syntax wedging on colons in names. When you got a lock on it, it'd squirrel away the string somewhere. Then when you used the lock in an open or examine call it'd search all the directories. Voila. Doesn't require changing AmigaDOS at all.
