There's a program called RESET.SYSTEM that installs as a "pre-boot" to
AppleWorks, and reconnects the reset vector (that Apple so thoughtfully left
unconnected...).  It's available on all major networks (GEnie, BIX, Source,
etc.), or can be downloaded from the Data Library on ProLine [sol] at (619)
281-7222 (login: guest).

Be aware that a minimum of 1200 bps is required for accessing the Library. 
The system itself will take 300 bps, though.
