It was indeed the linearity that screwed up my picure. I re-saved it with linearity on, and it loads fine into Paintworks. I thought type $C0 files were DeluxePaint's compressed format, not regular picture filetypes. Anyway, I just saw and ad for Paintworks Gold, the new Paintworks program. It looked impressive, and the'yre offering it for a limited time for $20 to Paintworks Plus owners, and $40 to owners of any other paint program (it's supposed to list for $120 regular) They've supposedly added about 40 new features, including 3-D, gradient shading, masking, etc. The ad shows a picture of the Taj Mahal reflected in the reflecting pool, and a tiger which must have been hand-pixeled for about 20 hours (at least). Looks promising. Glad I waited for a Paintworks upgrade. Oh, well...it's off to try and program that Mandelbrot plotter in Pascal again.
