If you are looking to generate fractal mountains and terrain, the book is not for you (although, if I had the money, I'd buy it anyway, since the pictures are so beautiful.) I have recieved good results with a GS and a BASIC algorithm for the Mandelbrot set, although the BASIC program (with a '225' color pallete -(actually 16 with 15 repeated, and black for the set itself)-) took about 14 hours to run. It came out great. Now, if I could only get Paintworks to load it... Which brings up my question. I have 2 (count them, two) super-res savers, both of which apparently have the same flaw, as they only save 33 blocks, and a messed-up 33 blocks at that. Now, I saved the picture by moving it into main memory (at 00/1000-00/8FFF), and can load it repeatedly, but I can't get Paintworks to load the file (even when I change the filetype to $C1). Could anyone help? Is there a catch to these save programs that I'm missing? Les Barstow {rutgers}!rochester!ritcv!ultb!lmb7421.UUCP LMB7421@RITVAX.BITNET
