Another possible solution, if the 9845 still exists, and if there is an HP-UX machine available, and if there is some disc (most likely a 5 1/4" or 8" floppy) that can be used with both machines, there are programs called 9845ls and 9845cat that can read the 9845 disc from HP-UX (from where LAN or uucp transfers are straightforward). I believe these were on the contrib tape for at least the series 300 and series 500. If you're really stuck and wanted to mail me a tape or 9845 floppy I could probably email you the contents.
