Message-ID: <4126@ptsfa.UUCP> Date: 16 Feb 88 19:54:59 GMT Organization: Pacific * Bell, San Ramon, CA Lines: 23 1) Several people mentioned Alt-F4. I knew about this, it works just fine but sometimes I need to use the memory that Procomm is using. 2) Several people mentioned Alt-X. This was exactly what my problem was, appa rently their modem was set differently than mine (see below). Alt-X always hung up the line, for me. 3) Several people mentioned strapping DTR, with special cables, or with the modem dip switches. I did exactly that (the dip switch), and it now works fine. One problem with ignoring DTR is that I could turn off my PC and forget that I am still logged on, oh well nothings perfect. 4) One person mentioned NOPing (??) the OUT command within Procomm that is dropping DTR. This is tempting, it would put me in a position of being version dependent, though. A new question: Does Procomm Plus address the problem? Thanks for all the help. Bob Stockwell pacbell!ptsfa!res
