There is a product called DUB-14 from Golden Bow Systems in San Diego, CA. It's been around for quite sometime, I believe (when I spoke to them last) that it's a hardware plug in (ROM I think) that somehow maps itself to the disk table in the BIOS. I haven't used this product personally, but the other products I own (Vcache & Vopt) are great. I'd recommend you give them a call (619) 298-9349.
