While I haven't tried the specific situation that you describe I think it is important to point out that there has been TWO upgrades to VersaTerm since version 3.1. I believe the current version is 3.20, Jan 10, 1988. Lonnie has the interesting policy of making small changes to the program but not bumping the version number. Thus there was a version 3.2 in October and now there is still version 3.2 but a release date of Jan 10. He is very tuned to using MultiFinder so I would expect better performance all around if you use the current version.
