She tells me that it's up to the software company to handle the credit card end -- they take a customer's account number, then forward the information to the vendor. It's up to the vendor to handle credit hassles. An interesting discussion over another proposed solution -- "ad-ware" -- is going on in (I think) comp.society.futures. Check it out.
