I really haven't done much with the file system except for using
those SF dialogs to let users choose files.  I have recently tried to
write some code to do some more complex file stuff and have gotten
nowhere.  For starters, I would like to be able to find out which
files/folders are in a particular directory...

If anyone has written similar code, I would appreciate any help.
