A page can start in one column mode and change to two column in the middle (.2C). However, trying to change from two column to one column causes a page break. I am looking for a way to have a one column floating keep in two column text. The floating keep will ALWAYS be released at the top of the next page so there will never be a need to convert from two column to one column in the middle of the page. This will be very useful for large figures and tables in a two column document. Has anyone hacked on the ms macros to implement this capability ?
