There was a company "Bell Technologies" (no relationship to the companies descended from Alexander Graham as far as I can tell, this one was in CA someplace) showing an X server running on a 386 (some SysV Unixoid no doubt) using the 82786 graphics co-processor on a 1260x1600 19" Monochrome screen at UNIFORUM. The speed and responsiveness seemed quite impressive, don't remember noticing if it was X10 or X11. The show price, with the screen, board and software, was $995 (you roll your own 386 system.) I guess it's more like $2K other times which still seems very good. I certainly did not see enough of this product to recommend it but it does seem worth looking into further if you are interested in such things. -Barry Shein, Boston University
