In case anyone is wondering what's going on....

A minor earthquake near Livermore, California at approximately 11:00am PST
Thursday damaged a pair of AT&T's fiber trunk lines, cutting off long distance
service to Santa Clara County and some other areas in Northern California.
AT&T estimates normal operation to be restored by late Friday, the 19th. 

So if you rely on telephone to reach Silicon Valley, you'll have to wait.
