Just a little side note: We at Ohio State receive and redistribute the
alt.* groups, but I see we didn't show up in your list of responding
sites.  One could question why not, of course (it should have been
easy to get a reply back to you from the standpoint of network
topology, both Internet and UUCP), but in any event it's clear that
there are sites doing things with alt.* which didn't get sendsys msgs
back.
