Apparently, the birds are now resident on Nantucket Island.  They have been
shooting them in Canada, from what I understand, because they don't want them
to become a crop pest.  Same goes for Pennsylvania, where a colony was
supposed to be establishing itself.  

The story about them coming over on ships is the latest resolution as to 
how they got here.  I remember that a heated debate went on as to wether
they were natural vagrants, or man assisted.  Stay tuned, and the story will
probably change yet again!
