Three points:

Has anyone been connecting external modems to their unix-pcs?  There's
a 2400-baud hayes clone available thru a friend for $135.  This and a
trailblazer sound attractive.  Anybody made them work well with uucp?
Or the phone mgr?  [[Yes, I know the trailblazer is overkill.  But I
won't have this pc forever, and the price may be right.]]

Interesting interaction between the Korn shell, the TMOUT variable, and
terminal emulation.  Set TMOUT to 5 minutes (TMOUT=300) and go call
someone.  Your login will be killed underneath you after 5 minutes.  No
real hassle -- your terminal emulation continues properly.  But it's wierd.

Lately (especially since the 3.51 upgrade) my pc has been hanging.  It's
suspiciously close to times when uucico is firing up.  A friend says there
is/was discussion of it under this newsgroup, but I've not seen any.
