A suggested precursor of cyberpunk fiction:  _Gravity's_
Rainbow_, by Thomas Pynchon.  Gibson has clearly
read it (and liked it).  I recommend it if you haven't;
it is in every way a more ambitious and radical
book than _Neuromancer_.  I'd love to be able to write
as well as Gibson, I'm sure he'd love to 
write as well as Pynchon.
