Davidsen Jr) Organization: General Electric CRD, Schenectady, NY Lines: 20 I would like to suggest that people use ARC compatible format for postings to this group, rather than PKARC. There are many of us out here who are on large UNIX computers who don't have PKARC at our fingertips, but do have ARC. When a binary posting come in, if it is in ARC format I can do the uudecode and unarc the doc files. Then I can decide if the program does something worth moving to the DOS world. I suspect that I am not the only one who moves thins to the DOS world via serial phone lines. I like to do some screening here. The reason for this group is to share information. If someone is generous enough to invest their time in posting something, I'm grateful. If anyone is that public spirited, perhaps this explanation of the reasons why ARC format is more useful will encourage a change in format. -- bill davidsen (wedu@ge-crd.arpa) {uunet | philabs | seismo}!steinmetz!crdos1!davidsen "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
