PKARC has options that allow you to disable the incompatible compression format. It's also *much* faster than ARC too. To create a SEA ARC compatible archive: PKARC -oc a arcname *.* This will create a file ARCNAME.ARC using all the files in the current directory. This assumes that PKARC.COM is located in your path. There have been changes to a version of SEA ARC to make it compatible with PKARC's newer compression scheme. Unfortunately, these changes haven't been verified on many machines. Nor to my knowledge is such a version of ARC widely available. It would be nice if someone would be able to coordinate the verification of one of the PKARC compatible ARC programs and post patches as it seems appropriate. >-- > bill davidsen (wedu@ge-crd.arpa) > {uunet | philabs | seismo}!steinmetz!crdos1!davidsen >"Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me -Bill ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: William D.
