If I want to read somebody's idle chatter, I'll read comp.sys.ibm.pc, which incidentally, has become so cluttered with chatter that it's almost impossible to keep up with. In response to the comments that "n" will skip any article which is not of interest, it takes my system about 10 seconds or so to go on to the next article. This can eat up quite a bit of time.
