One should be aware of software that has had copyright noticed removed.
I've seen plenty of copyrighted software that not only had the copyright
notice removed, but also had notices installed that said the program was public
domain.

Something like this is bound to happen sooner or later. The correct thing
to do is for the poster to apologise and issue a cancel message. I believe
that this has already been done.
