		Request for info on the performance of ORACLE

	This is for a friend of mine who does not have access to the
	net. 
	One of his company's applications needs to process a large volume 
	of transactions per second, and they are debating the feasibility 
	of using ORACLE under UNIX (on a mainframe) to do this. Any
	personal experience(s) running this kind of an application on 
	ORACLE/UNIX will be greatly appreciated. In particular, he is
	very interested in numerical results of performance tests etc.
	done in an ORACLE/UNIX environment, in order to determine whether
	it can handle the large transaction load that this particular 
	application handles.
