Well I think I have your answer, but I haven't tried it out, but I asked
around, and someone said to do it this way.

  fd : file;

I don't know if that looks right because I haven't messed with files for over a
year, but anyhow it's not declared as text but as a certain type of file,
however you do that.  I hope that I was of help.
