As far as I can tell, this mailing list is now dysfunctional. Messages to info-postscript-request are either lost or ignored; every day my inbox is flooded with useless messages from people asking to be added or removed from the distribution and exchanging technical information in which I have no interest. It appears that info-postscript is presently used for two imcompatible sorts of communication: 1) exchange of techniques and information between practicing Postscript programmers; 2) administrative and logistical queries from new users of Postscript. The second category is important, but in this case it seems to have squeezed out the first. If Postscript programming is important enough to have a forum for discussion on the net, then perhaps it deserves TWO. Could there be, for example, a moderated newsgroup for experienced programmers and an open forum for other postscript users? Benjamin Pierce
