If I use elm on a file
	elm -f foo
delete all the mail and press $ to resync, then it asks
	delete all mail
and I said y.  Then it deletes all the mail, and logically enough deletes foo.
Then it tries to reopen foo, and bombs, leaving the stty in the traditionally
munged state.
