About two years ago, I had difficulty about getting UUCP mail from my home site to another. The problem was that pathalias showed a link as DAILY when it should have been called DEAD. Now I had no problem in finding a working path, but since the "smart" mailers ignore what I tell them, mail did not get there. The mail gurus should realize that maps are always out of date in some manner, and that there may be good reasons why the "smart" mailers are, in fact, stupid. Something should be done to get the mail through! -- Herman Rubin, Dept. of Statistics, Purdue Univ., West Lafayette IN47907 Phone: (317)494-6054 hrubin@l.cc.purdue.edu (ARPA or UUCP) or hrubin@purccvm.bitnet
