Components do not have infinite life -- especially disk drive bearings and other mechanical thingies --, so turning systems off will help preserve the life of these components. Personally, I leave my 3b1 and 3b2 computers on all the time, and turn off my PC clone at night. So far, I've had to replace one monochrome monitor on the clone. -- Peter Holsberg UUCP: {rutgers!}princeton!mccc!pjh Technology Division CompuServe: 70240,334 Mercer College GEnie: PJHOLSBERG Trenton, NJ 08690 Voice: 1-609-586-4800
