Actually R&D should be really spelled as r&D. There is some research ( small r ) but mostly DEVELOPMENT (very large D). What passes off as development in a lot of places is really just maintenance. Some shops like to refer to it as "enhancements" ( better known as patching ). You'll find that the meaning of the words research, development and maintenance all have different meanings depending on who you happen to be talking to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Matsuoka, Develcon Electronics, 515 Consumers Road, Suite 500 Willowdale, ON Canada M2J 4Z2 uucp: {decvax,ihnp4,utai,uunet}!watmath!dvlmarv!alanm phone: (416) 495-8666 {utai, mnetor}!lsuc!dvlmarv!alanm sask!zaphod!dvlmarv!alanm
