(After all, if I remember correctly that's how Meecham got elected to the Arizona governorship -- the other more credible candidates split the vote, and Meecham was elected by 12% of the populace). Of the 6 candidates which the Nominating Committee put up for the open board positions, 2 were academics. Perhaps suggesting there should be more would be defeating the very goal you are striving for.
