I am currently working on adding a BSD style scheduling algorithm
to Minix.  It will be a mulit-level feedback queuing system with
priority reduction based upon current cpu usage, etc.
Before being accused of massive overkill (which I probably am guilty)
of ) this is part of my MS project, so I am not doing it so much
to have a fancy minix scheduler as to learn about them.
If there is interest I will post DIFFS when it is working well.
