A friend wants to set up a statistical research lab with a large database stored on WORM cartridges, which can be accessed by students at several workstations. The specific WORM and LAN systems are negotiable. Most vendors I talk to claim putting a WORM on a LAN is simple, but none seem to have done it, nor do they know directly of anyone who has actually set up such a network. The manufacturers seem less enthusiastic, and Novell flatly stated that Advanced NetWare will not support WORMs or CD ROMs. Jeffrey William Gillette uucp: jwg at duke.edu Duke University bitnet: DYBBUK at TUCCVM -- Jeffrey William Gillette uucp: jwg at duke.edu Duke University bitnet: DYBBUK at TUCCVM
