I'm driving down the street at a reasonable speed with a reasonable
distance between me and the car ahead.  Suddenly, said car swerves right
revealing another car ahead of it *stopped* and waiting to turn left.

Has this ever happened to you?  When it happens to me I have to decide
if I can safely brake to a complete stop in that distance and if not,
whether I can safely swerve right (behind the guy who did it to me) or
whether I'm in even deeper trouble.

Question:  What will this device do in a situation like this?  I'm
afraid slamming on the brakes isn't always the thing to do to avoid an
accident.
