I must recommend against Talking Notebook (I forget the exact name) by FirstByte. It's too slow to be usable and it's buggy. It would be a cute program if it worked, although it is clearly not an Amiga program but a port, probably from an Apple-II. But it's so slow that my 5 year old was convinced she'd broken the computer when she tried it; she refuses to use it now, even though she's fascinated by words and letters.
