Since I'm not a hardware type in particular, I thought I would pass this
wierdness on to someone who might figure it out long before I will.

I have a 1 meg A500 with external floppy, Okidata 92 on the parallel port,
Prometheus 1200 modem on the serial port. Everything works fine with this
one bizarre exception:

On the printer, the "Select" (on/off line) LED will not light if the
modem is turned off. If I turn the modem on, it works as it should.

Huh?!?!?!?!?
