As far as I know (but hey - what do I know? :-) it's not a supported product. Not until OS 10, in which it will be an integral part of the windowing environment (along with the current interface). The cover letter on the Adus tape says ".. it is not yet supported by Apollo. As you probably know, Apollo will support X at a future date." > 2) If X is available, which version - 10R4, 11R1, 11Rx? In the cover note for the tape, dated November 1987, it states that you need: SR9.6 or SR9.7, Domain/IX, TCP/IP preferably v3.1, a mouse. > 3) If X isn't currently available, when will it be and again what > OS revision is needed? The version that you get on the Adus tape is essentially the MIT supplied stuff, but cleaned up a little. Installing it is a breeze. They did, however, forget to mention three filesystem links that need to be created if you intend to write X clients. > 5) The Apollo server on the MIT tape appears to be mono-chrome > only. The color version is a beta sort of thing, as is the version in which DM and X windows coexist. > Thanks to all future respondents. No problem.
