Lines: 10 According to the March 7th Network World, Apple has announced the awaited Appletalk support for the //e. For the //e, the card, bundled with server software (for the Appleshare server) costs $249. For the GS (which already has an Appletalk interface), the cost is $99. It is not clear, since the software supposedly goes on the server, if multiple copies are needed to support multiple //GS's (seems unlikely unless there is also GS resident software). Several new network management tools were announced, along with new print server so software. No mention of the ability to use a // as a file server, so I assume a Mac is still required for that. This should be real good news for the school users of //s, although I'd really like to see TOPS support for the // line. I wonder if Sun is working or even interested in that?
