I talked with Judy at Mark Williams late last week.  She said that a port
of Coherent to the ST is in the works.  I asked if it could run on a stock
1040ST, and the answer was "Yes".

If you have MWC, you may have noticed that some of the include files 
(signal.h, stat.h, etc.) already have a bunch of stuff for Coherent.
