My hard disk on my 2 year old Unix PC crashed, and I'm now in the process of replacing it. I'm interested in 40, 66, or 72 megabyte drives with 28 ms or close to this access speed. I would also like to get a quiet and reliable drive. Can anyone make a few recommendations? Does any IBM AT compatible drive work in the Unix PC? Can both half-height and full-height drives fit? Ideally what I would want is a list that shows me all of the hard disks that can be used in the Unix PC. The list should contain the manufacture's name, model number, size of drive, access speed, and any comments (i.e., price, the amount of noise the drive makes, reliability, etc.). However, I've never seen such a list. So I'm volunteering to put this list together if you and everyone else could please send me information on hard disks that work in the Unix PC. I would also like to know the model numbers of the hard disks that you can select from the "hard disk initialization menu" on the Unix PC. For example, what model number is the Miniscribe 40 MB drive??? Also, if I choose "Other Drive", what information will I need to know to get the disk initialized? Thanks in advance.
