Message-ID: <683@varian.UUCP> Date: 15 Mar 88 06:17:39 GMT Organization: Varian, Walnut Creek CA Lines: 29 Keywords: transcript, 3b2 enhanced ports Does anyone have an Apple Laserwriter with Adobe Transcript software running on a 3b2/600? We've had no problem with the same setup on a 3b2/400 (running sV, rel 2.0.5), but on our 3b2/600 (sV rel 3.1.1), we get about a page or two of output, and then we get (in the log file) something like: ^C rest of job flushed (or something to that affect) It appears to me that pscomm is mis-interpreting some response (such as ^S?) from the Laserwriter as an abort. I'm wondering if there's something different about either sV rel 3, or with the enhanced serial ports that our 3b2/600 has (the 3b2/400 has the non-enhanced serial ports). A while ago, I thought I saw something in one of the manuals about something special in regards to enhanced ports and stty, but I can't find the place now - anyone know about this? I'm pretty sure that cabling between the computer and the printer is OK - the log gets all sorts of messages from the printer (like "warming up") and I can run cu, type executive, and talk to the postscript interpreter. We're just trying to get enscript (text) output; I haven't even attempted troff or graphics output. -- David Brown (415) 945-2199 Varian Instruments 2700 Mitchell Dr. Walnut Creek, Ca. 94598 {ptsfa,lll-crg,zehntel,ista,rtech,csi,kinetics}!varian!david
