Message-ID: <22781@clyde.ATT.COM> Date: 5 Mar 88 05:58:40 GMT Sender: nuucp@clyde.ATT.COM Reply-To: rcj@clyde.ATT.COM (Curtis Jackson) Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories, Whippany NJ Lines: 18 What is the story on the availability of a 2400-baud internal modem for the Toshiba T1000. Toshiba offers a 300/1200 modem for something like $300. Product R&D offers a 300/1200/2400 modem, fully Hayes AT compatible, Bell, CCITT; with separate switch for power off to save batteries in the laptop, ability to handle direct connect or acoustic coupler, and auto-switching baud rates. A pretty package, but they sell it to individuals for $440 (although a local computer store said they could sell it to me for $410). Beyond the price, my second concern is that this is a new product for Product R&D (first shipment leaves them March 15). Since I don't know anything about them, I'm a little shaky on buying this... So, does anyone know of a 2400-baud modem for the Toshiba T1000 other than Product R&D? Please try to mail rather than post; I'll be glad to summarize, The MAD Programmer -- 201-386-6409 (Cornet 232) alias: Curtis Jackson ...![ ihnp4 ulysses cbosgd allegra ]!moss!rcj ...![ ihnp4 cbosgd akgua watmath ]!clyde!rcj
