Message-ID: <1119@ur-tut.UUCP> Date: 8 Mar 88 19:10:18 GMT Organization: Univ. of Rochester Computing Center Lines: 21 Keywords: fdisk, partition What is the best procedure to recover from an accidently deleted DOS partition? In other words, suppose you use FDISK to delete the DOS partition, what is actually done to the hard disk? Is it sufficient to just use FDISK again to create a DOS partition ? Or, does one have to reformat the hard disk and then unformat using something like MACE Utilities to get the data back? Does FDISK mess up the FAT in some irrecoverable way , when you delete the DOS partition? On the same note, is there a good source for in depth information about DOS programs like FDISK ? Thanks. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Atul Kacker | Internet: akk2@tut.cc.rochester.edu | UUCP: {ames,cmcl2,decvax,rutgers}!rochester!ur-tut!akk2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
