Tandy designs their computers to be as uncompatible as possible in order to force you to buy their rediculously overpriced peripherals... So I am happy to tell users how to circumvent their marketing BS.... The Tandy 1000 requires a CMOS 8087!!! Mine used an 80C87... this is slightly more expensive than the 8087-2 but far less than $400!!! Mine cost $129.... for the 80C87-2 you shouldn't pay more than $150 american "Tandy, because there are so many better values!"
