The disadvantage of this system is that people cannot examine the archives on non-DOS systems to see if it's worth shipping them across to their PCs. I usually use a 9.6 kbaud line for this, and even so it can be tedious. Pity those who have to use 1200 or 2400 baud. Please leave the archive format for binaries in a state that Unix ARC can handle. Don't waste any more bandwidth than you have to ...
