Lines: 12 Why use ARC at all? As was debated before, all news is compressed along links that care about cost. Sometimes Arc + Compress is better than just compress, but only marginally at best. Sometimes Arc + Compress is worse. Just use the "portable archive" code that was sent out to the public domain ages ago. This can be posted here again, and it's compatible with the 4.2bsd "ar" program as well. The source to the unpacker is so small you could even include it with most postings.
