Absolutely right. NeWS can emulate any window system I know of. There is already a GEM emulator. In fact, you can theoretically pop up a menu and choose which window system you would like to emulate. This would even work with applications in shrink-wrap packages, due to the dynamic and flexible nature of NeWS.
