I'm looking for information regarding various image formats which are
supported by the mac. My primary interest, however, lies with the
macII. Presently, I am writing an application in C under Unix which
produces bitmapped images of various sizes (all of them 8bits deep)
and would like to be able to trivially view them on the mac.
Eventually, I will be porting the entire project to the macII under
macOS.

I would appreciate references to both commercially and/or public
domain supported formats.
