SIMTEL20 has a good collection of xmodem programs for various
operating systems.  There is a mailing list, Info-Xmodem@SIMTEL20.ARPA
which discusses these programs.

If I can be of assistance in attempting to locate xmodem for your host
please let me know.  Most recent versions have an option to do 1k
packets.  On any system that allows an 8-bit path it's significantly
faster than Kermit.  Of course Zmodem (a streaming protocol) makes
them all look sick.  We have C-language sources for that too.
