I just received my first Commodore 64 and would like to get a disk drive for it. My brother has a C-64C with a 1541 drive. I want the drive to be 100% compatible with my brothers so that we can exchange 5 1/4 inch floppy disks and be assured that they will work on my machine and vice versa. I have heard that there are two similiar types of disk drives, 1541 and 1541C. What are the differences? Can I use a 1541C and still be 100% compatible with a 1541??? Does any one in the local (Naperville, Lisle, Illinois) area have a 1541 disk drive in good working condition that they are willing to sell at a reasonable price ? -- .......................................
