Summary: an explanation, please, on RLL

There has been a fair amount of discussion about adding different types of
drives to uPort systems lately, along with whether they will or will not work
with different controllers.  The term RLL has been bandied about a lot, but the
discussion is somewhat crepuscular to me since i don't know the basics about
RLL stuff.  Anyone care to indulge me?
